Original Gijang Songkalguksu (Gijang Market Main Branch)

Original Gijang Songkalguksu

Hello, this is Gijang Song Kalguksu, located next to Gijang Market in northeastern Busan . There is also a Gijang Song Kalguksu in Seomyeon, Busan, but this is the Gijang Market main branch. Song kalguksu refers to handmade noodles, so they are not made using machines and therefore the shape is not perfect, but the noodles have a chewy texture and are delicious.

The menu at the original Gijang Songkalguksu includes normal and spicy Songkalguksu and Suiton, as well as Kongguksu, a summer special made with cold soup (soy milk) made from mashed boiled soybeans and handmade kalguksu. The soybeans used in Kongguksu are from Korea, so you can eat it with peace of mind. Other delicious side dishes include spicy kimchi, charcoal-grilled galbi dumplings, and seafood chijimi.

Busan's Gijang Market is about a 35-minute train ride from Bujeon Station in Seomyeon, Busan, on the Donghae Line bound for Gijang Station. If you visit Gijang Market, be sure to stop by this restaurant.
