Former Japanese military artillery position and mountain horse trail

Hello, in a small port on Gadeok Island connecting Busan and Geoje, there is a former Japanese artillery position that was installed during the Russo-Japanese War in 1904. In Oeyangpo, Daehang-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan, buildings such as a public bath, well, internal affairs unit, commander's office, armory, and military police department remain intact from the past.

The gun emplacement above the village is home to military facilities such as an ammunition storehouse and gun platforms. At the entrance, there are remains of a toilet that appears to have been used by the garrison, and inside the emplacement are six gun platforms, each measuring a full three meters in diameter, where the Japanese army apparently stationed a 3mm howitzer.

Additionally, in the surrounding mountains, there are remains of anti-aircraft gun positions and observation posts that were constructed during the Asia-Pacific War that broke out in the 1940s after the Russo-Japanese War, as well as horse paths and drainage channels used to transport military supplies and food.

Japanese-style buildings remaining in the village

At the entrance to the gun emplacement, there is a monumental stone that reads "The Geography of the Origin of the Headquarters." The front of the monument is inscribed with the title of the stone, along with the fact that the order to organize the unit was given on April 1905, 38 (Meiji 4), and that the organized unit landed on May 21 of the same year. The back of the monument is inscribed with the words, "This monument was erected in June 5 (Showa 7)."
