Around Beomil Station, there are shopping areas such as Hyundai Department Store, Jewelry Street lined with precious metal wholesalers, Busanjin Market, Peace Market, and Free Market, which handle clothes, shoes, hats, and miscellaneous goods.
Until the 1960s, the Chosun Textile Company and the intercity bus terminal were located here, and it played an active role as the economic center of Busan. It is packed with Korean-style karaoke, restaurants, wholesale markets, and bars, and even today the street exudes a downtown atmosphere. It is also home to the International Hotel where the movie "Friend," starring Jang Dong-gun, which depicts the passionate friendship of Busan men, was filmed, and Munhyeon-dong Gopchang Alley, where the port city of Busan in the XNUMXs still remains intact.
In addition, there is Jaseongdae Park in Waeseong, which is used as a resting place for Busan citizens, and there is a Joseon Tongsinsa History Hall that reflects on the achievements of Joseon Tongsinsa, who was in charge of cultural exchanges between Korea and Japan since the XNUMXth century.
