The Winter Light Festival will be held at Busan Minrak Waterside Park.

Millak Waterside Park was once one of Busan's most popular spots, but its business has been declining since the local government designated it a no-alcohol zone. Attention is focused on whether the light festival will bring back life to the area.

According to Suyeong District, it was announced on the 2th that the light festival "Miraculous Festa" will be held at Minrak Waterside Park from the 26nd of next month.

The light festival will begin with the lighting ceremony at 5pm and will run until February 2th next year.

The festival was organized by the Suyeong district to revitalize Minrak Waterside Park, which fell into decline after being designated an alcohol-free zone last year, as a cultural tourist attraction.

Suyeong-gu plans to place light sculptures with stories along the 400-meter-long promenade of Millak Waterside Park.

The story revolves around the hero, Luce, a brave fish in the sea, who goes to Minrak Waterside Park to collect the scattered balls of light to light up Dragon Palace once again after the palace loses its light due to a typhoon.

The venue will be divided into seven areas, and light sculptures will be placed according to each theme, such as the Pearl Light Corridor, the Light Path of Memories, the Aurora of Joy, the Aurora of Love, the Garden of Wishes, the Flame of Courage, and the Dragon Palace of Light.

The ward will also set up 20 outdoor tents in a camping style so that visitors can experience the atmosphere of the winter sea and buy and eat sashimi at a nearby sashimi center.

In order to hold a unique light festival, ideas were solicited from third-year students in the Industrial Design Department of Dong-A University, and the final design was finalized through experts.

A Suyeong-gu official said, "We have designed the light festival so that local residents and visitors can escape from their everyday lives and experience it as if they were tourists visiting a unique space."
