A 13-story stone pagoda from the Unified Silla period near Oksanseowon Seowon Seowon
Hello, I'm visiting the World Heritage Site, which is also the hometown of Professor Lee En-di, one of the leading Confucian scholars of the Yi Dynasty.Gyeongju Yangdong Folk VillageIt is set withTamayama AcademyAbout 2km northwest from here is the Thirteen-story Stone Pagoda, National Treasure No. 40. The Thirteen-story Stone Pagoda at Cheonghyesa Temple Site, said to have been built in the 8th century during the Unified Silla period, has a single earthen base and a 1-story body, but with a height of just 13 meters, it is a unique stone pagoda unlike any other in Korea.
The four corners of the first floor of this stone pagoda are supported by square stone pillars, reminiscent of the first floor of the Dabotapagoda at Bulguksa Temple. From the second to the thirteenth floor, the number of floors tapers off at a constant rate, giving the pagoda an overall sense of stability.
There are not many records about Jeonghesa Temple, but according to the "Tokyo Tongji," Baek U-gyeong, who came to Silla from the Tang Dynasty of China in 780 during the reign of King Seondeok of Silla, built a house here. It is said that it was later rebuilt into a temple and named Jeonghesa Temple.
Everyone! In the northern part of Gyeongju, there is Yangdong Folk Village and Oksanseowon Seowon in Angkang-eup.Top Hall There are surprisingly many attractions to see, such as the 413-Story Stone Pagoda at Cheonghyesa Temple Site (National Treasure No. 40), and the Tomb of King Heungdeok (Historic Site No. 30), so it might be a good idea to head a little north from Gyeongju.
