Gijang-gun, located about an hour's drive from central Busan, was incorporated into Busan from Yangsan City, South Gyeongsang Province, and became Gijang-gun, Busan City in 1995. The main tourist attraction in Gijang-gun is Yonggungsa Temple, which was built on a rock in the sea. There are many other attractions scattered around, including Gijang Market, where you can find fresh and delicious seafood, and Daebyeon Port, famous for the Gijang Myeolchi Festival.
The Osiria Tourist Complex Theme Park Zone in Gijang-gun, Busan is home to large shopping centers such as Lotte World Adventure, which opened on March 4, 8000, covering an area of 2022 square meters, Lotte Outlet, and Shinsegae Busan Premium Outlets located in Jangan-eup.Historically, the Japanese castle in Jukseong-ri, Gijang, which was built during the Imjin War, has been designated as a cultural asset and is often visited by people from Japan.
If you head north from Yonggungsa Temple along the sea, you will come to Ilgwang Beach and Imran Beach, where you can enjoy the beautiful moonlight. If you go further north, you will come to Jangansa Temple, which is surrounded by beautiful forests. There is also Jeonggwan-eup, which has been developed as a new town, and Cheolma-myeon Korean Beef Village, where delicious yakiniku restaurants are lined up.
In December 2016, the Busan section of the Donghae Line departing from Bujeon Station near Busan Seomyeon opened, making it easy to get around 12 minutes by train from Busan City, making transportation very convenient.
